Loretta Sue McGraff

Loretta Sue McRaff, age 65 of Damascus, VA, passed away Sunday September 25, 2016 surrounded by family and friends after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. She was born to the late Sidney A and Gaynell Hill on August 3, 1951. She was also preceded in death by a sister Brenda G. Phillips.

Her strong will to live, faith in god, and the love and prayers of family and friends and many supporters carried her through her battle with cancer. She was anchored by the love and encouragement that they provided. She was known for possessing a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she taught those close to her the value of good manners, courtesy and that hospitality is no small thing. She maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many. Who still even now are being changed by her nurturing love and faith. Her gift of joy, love and laughter will live on in the hearts of many.

Loretta is survived by her husband Bill McRaff, and two sons; James (and wife Tonya) Bowen, Stevie Bowen and a step daughter Kathy Johnson. Five grandchildren, Jasmine, Jimmy, Ashley, Jeffrey, and Scooter Bowen. Also a great grandchild Adrianne Hunt. Loretta is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Allen and Sheena Hill of Coeburn, VA; Eddie and Robin Hill of Coeburn, VA; Charlene Kiser of Dante, VA; Randy and Deborah Hill of Marion OH; Barb and Richard Fudella of Saltville, VA; Dianna and Michael Massie of Rogersville, TN; Jerry and Pat Hill of Marion, OH; and Terry and Karen (Gilliam) Hill of Edison, OH; She also had many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last few months and has arranged a Celebration of Life Prayer Service that will be held on November 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., South Holston Lake, Whitaker Hollow boat dock.
