Louise Stuckey Nicely, age 93 and of the Hayter's Gap Community, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born June 1, 1920 in Leetown, WV to the late Vernon and Ollie Files Stuckey.



She and her late husband of 66 years, James F. Nicely, owned and operated Nicely Supply Co. and Jefferson Engineering, a paint and building supply store and a building company, from 1953-1963 in Charlestown, WV. Louise worked as a telephone operator for C & P in Baltimore, MD for over four years.



While living in Charlestown, WV she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 3522 where she served in elected offices, local, district, and Deputy of West Virginia. She was Dept. Chaplain before moving from West Virginia to be where her husband had taken employment.



Mrs. Nicely and her husband moved from Westfield, MA to Washington County, VA in 1973 where she was employed at Goldan Mfg. for 11 years. She was a member of Meadowview United Methodist Church and held a number of church offices and was secretary of painters Sunday School Class and enjoyed sending cards to the church members.



In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, J. Newton Stuckey and Leonard Stuckey, Jr.; son, Leonard C. Nicely; two grandsons, J. Alan Nicely and Daniel L. Nicely.



She is survived by her son, James R. Nicely of Dawsonville, GA; sister, Juanita Custiman of Kearneysville, WV; daughter-in-law, Suzanne M. Nicely of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Brent (Maryann) Nicely of Dawsonville, GA, Christopher D. Nicely of Elijay, GA; Deborah L. (David) Sorenser of Gainesville, GA, Malinda L. (Dr. Scott) Williams of Kingsport, TN, Martha Gregory of Knoxville, TN, and Marjorie M. (Hal) Miller of Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Rylee, Jessica, and Cody Long, Chad and Connor Gregory, and Megan McCoy; numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friend Brenda Little.



Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Rev. David Jackson officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 P.M. just prior to the service.



A second visitation will be held from 12-1:30 P.M. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, WV. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. following the visitation at Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Kearneysville, WV with Rev. John Brooks officiating.
