Mrs. Lucille King, age 79 went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Wellmont Hospice House.
She was born June 9, 1932, in Welch, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late John and Saddie Woolridge.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Janice King (age six months); her first born son, Raymond C. King, who was killed in a mining accident before his 21st birthday; and her late husband Elbert Clifford King.
Survivors include special friend Don Mitchum; her sons, George King and wife Barbara of Abingdon, VA and Kenny King of the home; her daughters, Darlene Jackson and husband Gary of Abingdon, VA and Kathy Boyd and husband Jackie of Lebanon, VA; her brother George Woolridge, Jr. of Welch, W.VA; her two sisters Magaline Cline of Princeton, W.VA. and Molly Seagrace of GA; her grandson, Raymond Boyd and wife Amanda of Manassas, V A; her granddaughters, Christy Addison and husband Shannon of Bristol, TN; Carrie Kimery and husband Michael of Bristol, VA; and Tia Hensley and husband Bobby of Flag Pond, TN; her great granddaughters, Mackenzie Addison of Bristol, TN and Emma Faith Hensley of Flag Pond, TN; her great grandsons, Tyler Addison of Bristol, TN and Sammy Boyd of Manassas, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of the following caretakers; Evelyn Goodson and the staff of Wellmont Hospice House, and special aid Margaret; and Freddie Horn.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, with Rev. Ancil Childress, Pastor John Stapleton and Rev. Jon Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon, VA. Pallbearers will be Pat Martin, Raymond Boyd, Michael Kimery, Bobby Hensley, Shannon Addison and Anthony Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Hale, Paul Shepherd, Doug Addison and Bennie Turner.
