Lucyanna Bland Craig

Abingdon, VA – Lucyanna Bland Craig, age 75, passed on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Bland was a 1964 graduate of Abingdon High School and a graduate of Radford University. She taught Biology for Washington County Schools for over 30 years. Bland loved American Saddlebred Horses and enjoyed attending horse shows. She also enjoyed reading, Science Fiction, and buying and repairing antiques.
Bland was preceded in death by her parents, James Gordon Craig, Sr. and Margaret Mason Craig, her brother James Gordon Craig, Jr., and longtime friend, Martha Witherspoon.
She is survived by her sister, Jane Craig Sebok; niece, Margaret Ann Craig; nephew, James Gordon Craig, III and wife Angela; great nieces, Michaela Rhiannon Harvey, Jaydon Demarcus Silver, Victoria Craig Bakr and husband Josh, and Vanessa Marie Craig; and longtime friend of over 50 years, Doris Tyler.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2022, in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating.
