Lydia Lee Josephine Doss, age 101, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was a member of Faith Fellowship Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Luther Blaine Doss; son, Carl Joe Doss; and daughter, Shirley Hutton.
She is survived by three daughters, Agnes Odham of the home, Joyce Smith and husband Kenneth of Chilhowie, VA, Betty Lamb and husband Jerry of Greensboro, NC; two sons, Douglas Blaine Doss and wife Velma and Ronnie Lee Doss and wife Jennifer all of Chilhowie, VA; daughter-in-law, Mary Lane Doss of Chilhowie, VA; 20 grandchildren, Judy and Gary Odham, Donna Miller, Debbie Bryson, James Doss, Michael Doss, Barry Doss, Sally and David Hutton, Cynthia Surface, Greg Smith, Keith Smith, Timothy Smith, Angela Naquin, Randy Lamb, Shelia Call, Jeff Doss, Julia Biesiadecki, Chris Doss, and Molly Doss; 41 great grandchildren; and 36 great great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00-9:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 27th at the funeral home with Pastor Chuck Herrell officiating. Family and friends will travel in procession to Mountain View United Methodist Church Cemetery in Chilhowie, VA for interment. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
