Marcelle Wooddell Denton

Marcelle Wooddell Denton, age 90, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at her home. She was born May 15, 1927, to the late Grover Cleveland Wooddell and Bess Harouff Wooddell in Mt. Hope, W. Va. Marcelle enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and Carolina Tarheel basketball.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Bruce Edward Denton; three brothers, Randall, Wilfred and Harold Wooddell; and a sister, Susan David. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Teresa Downing Denton, of the home; one sister, Mariel Smith; two granddaughters, Laura Denton Bruce and husband, Patten, and Amy Denton Navey and husband, Josh; and three great grandchildren, Levi, Reese, and Cal Navey.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10004.
