Margaret Henderson Williams

d. January 3, 2011

On January 3, 2011, Mrs. Margaret Henderson Williams joined her loving husband, Kenneth N. Williams, in a new journey with the Lord.

Some of her greatest joys late in life were volunteering at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Faith in Action, and the Food Bank. She was a member of the Hayters Gap Senior Citizens. She also faithfully attended Fellowship Baptist Church.

Her ultimate passion was being outside in her garden, which she generously shared all that she harvested. Her life was her family and she was an extremely devoted, nurturing, and loving wife, mom and nannie. Her purpose in life was to care for those she loved and she was a blessing to her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by the love of her life, Kenneth N. Williams; her sister, Helen Sillix and husband Floyd; brothers, D.P. Henderson and wife Wanda, Herschel Henderson and wife Evelyn, and sister-in-law Christina Henderson.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Evans and husband Sam; three sons, Dale Williams and wife Pam, Tom Williams and wife Tammy and Jerry Williams and wife Betty; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Matheny-Eckstrom (Steve), Joella Matheny, Jessica McAllister (Bryan), Kendall Williams, Andy Williams (Maggie), Adam Williams, Richard Williams and Breanna Williams; six step-grandchildren, Greg Evans (Beth), Neil Evans (Valarie), Alicia Sullivan, Emily Sullivan, Tyler Edwards and Felicia Edwards; several foster grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Mia Eckstrom, William Eckstrom, Katelyn Williams and Ethan Williams.

Survivors also include two brothers, D.N. Henderson and Joy Henderson (Brenda); sister, Zane Litton; sister-in-law, Lynn Miller (Vernie); numerous nieces and nephews; her life-long best friend and cousin, Millie Johnson, and her very special friend, Joyce Horn.

The celebration of her life will begin at 8 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Fellowship Baptist Church, Ravenswood Drive, Meadowview, VA with Pastor Chad Johnson officiating. The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place the following day, January 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. with family and friends gathering at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Alison Whitman for her tender love and care for our precious Mother and Nannie.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Ecumenical Faith in Action, P.O. Box 2419, Abingdon, VA 24212.
