Mark Berton DeBusk, age 52, passed on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at his home. Mark was a member of Muncey Memorial United Methodist Church and is preceded in death by his father, Berton F. DeBusk, Jr.
He will be remembered always for his vivacious personality and endless smile. Mark had a love of flying and was a pilot for twenty years. He was the owner of a towing service, security and locksmith business, but had retired due to health concerns. Mark's heart was full of compassion for the young and elderly alike, and he will be celebrated for his role as a son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
He is survived by his mother, Freeda Goodman DeBusk of Abingdon, VA; sister, Kristi D. Barrett and husband Bobby of Abingdon, VA; very special niece and nephew, Meagan Y. Harding and husband Kyle of Lexington, VA and Ross Massie of Abingdon, VA; and a very special aunt, Betty G. Owen, of Bristol, TN.
At Mr. DeBusk's request, a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 24060, or to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311, in Mark DeBusk's name.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Jonathan Swank and Dr. Mark Borsch for the care given to Mark. They also offer a special thanks to Bo and DeeDee Boyd for being such longtime, dedicated friends.
