Mary C. Brewster

Abingdon, Va. 

Mary C. Brewster, 76, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mary moved to Abingdon with her husband from Cucumber, W.V. She dedicated her life to raising her children and making a home for them and her husband.  Mary was Catholic and taught her children accordingly. As her health began to fail, she enjoyed watching talk shows like Maury and Jerry Springer. She loved Walmart! There she made many friends and always had someone to converse with. 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, George Vernon Brewster;  her parents Mario and Pauline Foti Caccamo; and brothers Antonio and Angelo Caccamo. 

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Payne and husband Michael of Springhill, Fla., and Tina Woods of Abingdon; sons Anthony Brewster and wife Rebecca, and Carl Brewster and wife Heather, all of Abingdon; grandchildren Jonathan (Nicole) Payne of San Diego, Calif., Andrew Payne of Springhill, Fla., Casey Payne (Kayla) of Camp Lejeune, N.C., Tiffany Brewster of Gray, Tenn., Anthony Brewster, Jr. of Bristol, Va., Dylan Brewster of Abingdon, Emma Brewster of Abingdon, and Rachel and Mary Grace Woods, both of Abingdon; great-grandchildren Lynda Marie Forman and Michael Vernon Payne, both of San Diego, Calif., and Owen James Payne of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; and brothers Giovanni, Joe and Patsy Caccamo, all of New Jersey. 

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Grandview Memorial Park, Bluefield, Va. Those wishing to attend the interment service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
