Abingdon, VA – Mary Edith Mullins, age 80, left her earthly home for her eternal Heavenly home Saturday evening November 12, 2016 at Wellmont Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Edith was an extremely loving, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother, and member of the Holston Valley Baptist Church. This special lady was loved and respected by all who knew her. Edith was a retired store manager at the former Midway Drug Store of Grundy Virginia. Those who knew her well knew her joy came from being an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Daniels and Evelyn Cline Daniels Deel; husband, Frank Mullins; daughter, Brenda Ellen Lowe; and two brothers, Clarence Daniels and Howard Daniels.
Edith is survived by her son, Edward Mullins and wife Debbie of Abingdon, VA; two daughters, Linda Looney and husband Mark of Springfield, OH, and Glenda Keene and husband Mark of Vansant, VA; six grandchildren, Pamela Mullins, Carrie Mullins Lawson, Matthew Looney, Joshua Lowe, Daniel Lowe, and Hannah Lowe; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan, Wendy, Claudia, Penelope “Penny”, Frances “Frankie”, Brendon, and Macon; five brothers, Uley Daniels, Roger Daniels, Ersell Daniels, Ronnie Daniels, and Michael Daniels; and two sisters, Ellen Daniels and Mabel McClung.
Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Holston Valley Baptist Church, 18396 Cleveland Road, Abingdon, VA, with Rev. Paul Ketron, Rev. Brad Terry Davis, and Pastor Jason Dunn officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Methodist Church Cemetery with Paul Lowe, Daniel Lowe, Matthew Looney, and the men of Holston Valley Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.
