Mrs. Mary Jewell Sowards, age 88, passed away on Sunday October 13, 2013 at the Hospice House in Bristol, TN. She had lived in St. Augustine, FL prior to moving to Bristol, TN 5 years ago. Her faith was Baptist.
Mrs. Sowards was predeceased by her husband James Sowards and son Jimmy Sowards. She is survived by 2 daughters; Joyce (Gary) Granger of Montgomery, AL and Jeanette (Van) Hamlin of Bristol, TN.; 3 grandchildren Jessica Barfield, Heather Giddens and Jeffrey (Daniela) Hamlin; and 1 great grandson Baxley Hamlin.
A funeral service for Mrs. Mary Jewell Sowards will be held on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service officiated by Minister Dr. Gary W. Knapp. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 6:00 pm 7:00 pm prior to the service. A private entombment will be held on Wednesday at Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
