Masie Lula Vestal

Masie Lula Vestal, 104, of Boating Terrace, Salisbury, NC died on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at her home. Born in Johnson County, TN, on October 1, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Matthew Flanagan and Sarah Turnmire Flanagan. Mrs. Vestal was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Damascus, VA. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Woodard, Sr., and second husband, Carl Leroy Vestal.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ray, Charles Jr., and Paul Woodard; a daughter, Ruby Harris, and two sisters, Julia and Dorothy Turnmire.

Survivors include, one daughter, Loraine Goodman of Salisbury, 25 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, December 11, at 3:00 p.m. at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Damascus, VA, with the Rev. Kenneth Meredith officiating. The service will be conducted by Farris Funeral Service. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 9 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service in Mocksville, NC.
