Melody Jane Davis, age 45, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who dedicated her life to her family.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Morrison of Damascus, VA; honorary father, Louis Rutter of Blountville, TN; her loving husband of 28 years, Robert Davis; three daughters: Ashley Lee and husband Justin of Meadowview, VA; Karry Davis of Bristol, VA; and Heather Davis of Bristol, TN; brother, Robert Morrison of Damascus, VA; sister, Debbi Childers of Abingdon, VA; four grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Peyton Lee, Brooklynn Hall, and Urijah Taylor; and special cousin, Tamara Cannon.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Forest Hills Chapel with the Reverend John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Cannon, Gary Gregory, Chad Gregory, Sam Rutter, Justin Lee, and Jacob Taylor. The Glade Spring Rescue Squad and the Abingdon Ambulance Service will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defer the cost of final expenses.
