Merlie B. "Chubby" Johnson

Bristol, Va. 

Mrs. Merlie B. “Chubby” Johnson, 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Lebanon, Va., daughter of the late Walter B. Hubble and Beulah Robinson Hubble. She attended Fellowship Chapel in Bristol. Chubby loved to read and play cards with her friends. 

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard B. Johnson; son Rick Johnson and wife Robin; daughters Debra F. Timmons and Tammie K. Johnson; brothers Roger B. Hubble and wife Ruth, and Ronnie M. Hubble and wife Laura; sister Nancy Bollinger and husband Larry; four granddaughters: Allyson Harrness and husband Joe, Alexandra Lemieaux and husband Jon, Lauren Prieto, and Ashley Unger and husband Justin; grandson Matt Johnson; and great-grandchildren Adrianna, Jax and Leo. 

The funeral service for Merlie B. “Chubby” Johnson will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Scott Price officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, Va.; family and friend are encouraged to meet at the mausoleum.
