Michael Dwayne Smith, age 55, of Damascus, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at his home. He was born April 8, 1962, to Ralph Dean Smith and Elsie Virginia Pendergrass Smith in Bristol, Va.
Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Beulah Smith; maternal grandparents, Albert and Ruth Pendergrass; and sister, Sharon Edson.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sharon Smith; son, Nathan Hayes of Meadowview, Va.; daughter, Patricia Morris of Damascus, Va.; brother, Gary Edson of Bristol, Tenn.; sister, Karen Browder of Winston-Salem, N.C.; half-sister, Gail Davis of Abingdon, Va.; and four grandchildren, Hannah Hayes, Jonathen Widener, Morgan Widener, and Maddox Hayes.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
