Mildred Marie Copenhaver McThenia

Mildred Marie Copenhaver McThenia, age 75, passed on Friday, January 25, 2013, at Grace Health Care. She was a member of Palestine Baptist Church in Abingdon where she was involved in many of the church ministries as her health allowed. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Dean McThenia, her parents Preston and Marie Copenhaver.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands: Debbie Debusk, and husband Ronnie ;
Kathy Smith and husband Sam; Deana Rhinehart and husband Andrew; six grandchildren: Jeremy and Adam DeBusk, former Staff Sergeant, USAF, Melissa Smith Hillis and Matthew Smith, Staff Sergeant, USMC, Brandon Wilson and wife Meghan, and Jennifer McClanhanan and husband Ronnie; nine great-grandchildren who were the love of her life; Kamrin, Braylen, Kielyn, Kherington, Madison, Tristan, Ryleigh, Olivia and Parker; two brothers, Bob Copenhaver and his wife Becky and Roger Copenhaver and his wife Betty.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Steven Richardson officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In accordance with Mrs. McThenia's wishes, there will be no viewing at the funeral home but family and friends are welcome to visit her home at anytime.

The family would like to offer special thanks to special caregivers Melissa Brown, Amanda Puckett and Danny McThenia. Also to Linda Talbert who has been faithful to check on her daily and to all the prayer warriors who have continually prayed for her and our family.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or the Mountain Youth Academy Relay for Life team at Mountain Youth Academy, 332 Hospital Drive in Mountain City TN. 37683

Although she will be missed and life will be so hard without her- it's great to know that one day we will see her again and she is now rejoicing with her husband and parents in a city built by God for those who trust him.
