Minnie "Pearl" Nunley

Minnie Bell Reynolds “Pearl” Nunley, age 86, of Abingdon, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 5, 2018, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born April 1, 1931, to the late John Henry Reynolds and Laura Tedder “Laurie” Reynolds. Together with her husband, Carles, Pearl owned and operated Nunley’s Truck Stop on Route 19. She attended Chestnut Grove Community Church.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was also preceded in death by her husband, Carles Jessee Nunley; son, Donnie Nunley; and two brothers, Paul and Warden Reynolds.

She is survived by ten children, Estherlene Reynolds and husband, Ed, of Abingdon, Va; Bobby Lee Nunley and wife, Nancy, of Abingdon, Va.; Billy Wayne Nunley and wife, Gayle, of Lebanon, Va.; Doson Nunley of Abingdon, Va.; Sis Nunley of Abingdon, Va.; Jay Nunley and wife, Irma, of Abingdon, Va.; Carles Jessee Nunley, Jr. and wife, Marjorie, of Abingdon, Va.; Lena Mae Rasnake and husband, Jody, of Abingdon, Va.; David Eugene Nunley and wife, Robin, of Charlottesville, Va.; and Jeffrey Allen Nunley and wife, Pam, of Bristol, Tenn.; two brothers, Marvin Reynolds and wife, Loretta, of Abingdon, Va. and James Reynolds of Abingdon, Va.; sister, Beulah Nunley of Abingdon, Va.; 22 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where pallbearers will be selected from the grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at the funeral home.
