Mollie Cleo McGlone Midgett

Abingdon, VA - Mollie Cleo McGlone Midgett, died July 17, 2017 at her home in Washington County, Virginia. She was surrounded by those that she loved, including her devoted caregiver, Kelly Ferguson. She was born April 12, 1927 in Greenup, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray, and her husband, William. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Midgett, and a son, William (Kathy) Midgett, both of Abingdon and a sister, Rosalie Brown of Ashland Kentucky. Other survivors include her three beloved grandchildren, Michele (Mark) Mutschler, Joshua Wright, Caleb (Becky) Wright and four special great grandchildren: Logan, Brody, Lily and Cailynn. She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart and who dubbed her the “kissing” aunt. She can now say I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day… 2 Timothy: 4

A funeral service for Mollie Cleo Midgett will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday July 20, 2017 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Holston Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday July 19, 2017.
