Nancy Ann Skeen, age 79, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 at NHC Healthcare Bristol.
She was born to the late Dewey Evans and Minnie Belle Pennington Evans in Portsmouth, OH. She worked as an O.R. Nursing Supervisor for 43 years, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
She is also preceded in death by four brothers Larry Evans, Ronald Eugene Evans, William Dewey Evans, and Amil Beemer Hughes, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jay Skeen; one son, Michael Skeen of SC; one daughter, Linda Bates Vesci and husband Frank of NC; two sisters, Faye Amlin and Mary Yvonne Stevens and husband William all of OH; two grandchildren, Vanessa and Daniel; family friends, Ray Cooper of SC and Shelia Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Scott Homesley and Pastor Kent Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Margaret B. Mitchell Spay/Neuter Clinic, 16222 Lee Highway, Bristol, VA 24202.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of NHC Healthcare Bristol, the Cancer Center at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Pastor Scott Homesley, and Pastor Kent Peterson.
