NANCY REBA HOLBROOK HERNDON
January 1st, 1947 --- February 10th , 2016
On February 10, in the Year of Our Lord, 2016, Nancy Reba Holbrook Herndon, beloved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend ascended into heaven to find rest, peace, love, and happiness in the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father. She will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Born January 1, 1947 to J. W. Holbrook and Elinor Reba Hobby Holbrook as the second of five daughters, she is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Charlie S. Herndon Jr. of the home; sons, Jeffry Stowe Herndon of the home and Jason Todd Herndon and wife Angela of Bristol Va.; sisters, Jayme Kathleen Carter of Princeton, W.Va., and Linda Margaret Montgomery and husband L. D. Montgomery of Nicholasville Ky.; granddaughters, Ellisen Emille Herndon of Marietta, Ga., and Madison Shea Herndon of Bristol, Va.; daughter-in-law, Enid Vasquez of Marietta, Ga.; brother-in-law, Martin Wehnau of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in passing by paternal and maternal grandparents; mother Elinor; infant sister, Susan J. Holbrook; sister, Elinor Therese Wehnau; brother-in-law, Louis L. Carter; and eldest son, James Scott Herndon.
At this time there are no formal arrangements planned. However, at a future date yet to be determined, there will be Celebration of Life that will be announced. All family and friends will be invited to participate in remembrance of her wonderful life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the American Kidney Foundation.
