Nancy Sue Fulcher Gillen

Nancy Sue Fulcher Gillen, age 65, passed on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Nancy was born June 5, 1948 to the late John and Dorothy Woodward Fulcher. She was a member of the Church of New Beginnings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bolden O’dell “Odie” Gillen; son, Chris Gillen; and sister, Clara Lovetta Holbrook. She is survived by one son, Jonathan Wade Gillen of Glade Spring, VA; two daughters, Tammy Gillen and Lisa (Richard) Edwards, both of Glade Spring, VA; brother, David (Carol) Greer of Rougemont, NC; sister, Carolyn (Ron) Hicks of Glade Spring, VA; nieces, Tammy Jenkins and Lynn Hosto; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; special friends, Janie Umbarger, Joyce Rasnake, and Shelia Nolff; and loyal companion, her dog Comet. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Church of New Beginnings, Forest Hills Dr., Glade Spring, VA, with Pastor Jeff Wallace officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Janice Gable, Dr. Sally Pennings, Dr. Andrew Leinhart, the Staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Devine Home Care, Valley Health Care, and Smyth County Ambulance Service for the care they have given Nancy over the years.
