Nannie M. Bellamy went home to be with the Lord on August 7, 2011 at Grace Health Care of Abingdon, VA. She was born July 30, 1933 in Russell County, VA.
Nannie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was a retired telephone operator of United Inter-Mountain Telephone Co. working in Abingdon and Bristol with 39 years of service. She also worked as a switch board operator at Johnston Memorial Hospital for 10 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Ollie McCracken; two sisters, Stella Fields and Alice Mims; two brothers, Roscoe McCracken and Harry McCracken; and one nephew, Michael McCracken.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, James E. Bellamy; two sisters, Pauline Staples of Abingdon, VA, Pansy Whitman and her husband, Paul of Middlesburg Hgts., OH; two brothers, Bob McCracken and his wife Patty and John McCracken and his wife Janice, all of Abingdon; two sisters-in-law, Nina McCracken of Lebanon, VA, and Dorothy McCracken of Cedar Bluff, Va; brother-in-law, Fred Bellamy and his wife Vivian of Abingdon; several nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Geneva Wright and Delma Lewis.
The funeral service for Mrs. Bellamy will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist church with Brother Ronnie Blevins and Rev. Floyd Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Staples, Scott McCracken, Randall McCracken, Allen McNew, Amos King and Troy Hinchey. Honorary pallbearers will be Bradley Fields, Joe Fields, Woody Fields, Roscoe (Johnny) McCracken, Mont Reynolds and Tim Booth.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Farris Funeral Service.
