Nellie Blanche Moretz

Bristol, VA – Nellie Blanche Holmes Moretz, age 84, passed on Monday, July 11, 2022. Nellie was born in Clinchburg, VA to the late Gale and Minnie Stallard Holmes. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Bristol, VA and retired from Washington County Service Authority.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Moretz; son, Steven McCracken, Sr.; grandsons, Ryan McCracken, Henry Belcher, and Alex McCracken; brothers, Gene, Cecil, and Gerald Holmes; and sister, Geneva Campbell.

She is survived by her children, Brian McCracken of Bristol, VA, David McCracken of Glade Spring, VA, and Donna Mitchell and husband Randall of Bristol, VA; step daughters, Tonnie Mason and husband Shawn of Knoxville, TN, and Anja Lee Moretz of Jefferson City, TN; grandchildren, Brandon, Nikita, Lindsey, Christopher, Steven, Nathan, Amanda, Ashlynn, Alonna, Elliott, Arianna, Allison, Abigail, and Ben; several great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Geneva Repass and Peggy Holmes; special friend, Judy Jessee; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2022, in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor David Mizelle officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday in Mt. View Cemetery Mausoleum in Bristol, VA with Brandon Belcher, Steven McCracken, Jr., Andrew Burke, Christopher McCracken, Eddie Holmes, and Josh Creger serving as pallbearers.
