Nellie Ruth Casey, 82, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in Abingdon, Virginia.
She was born March 27, 1929, in Washington County, Virginia, and was the daughter of the late John Henry and Nellie "Tishie" Wishon Stanley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison H. Casey; her
daughter, Erma lee Casey; her son, Glenn Eric Casey; her grandson, Timothy C.Casey; four brothers, Bartey Stanley, Harley Stanley, J.D. Stanley and Bill Stanley; and four Sisters, Virginia "Mae" Hamm, Thelma "Faye" Pefferman, Katherine McNew and Dorothy Daugherty.
She is survived by two sons, Steve Casey of Baltimore, MD, and Roger Casey of Burke, NY; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 14, 2011 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Chad Johnson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 7:45 P.M. Thursday at Farris Funeral Service.
Committal services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July15, 2011 at Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the committal service may assemble at the cemetery.
