Patricia "Sue" Blevins Smith, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She received her Associate's Degree in Drafting and Design from Virginia Highlands Community College and recently earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Argosy University. She was a former employee of HBA Cast in Bristol, VA, and was a lifelong member of McCall's Gap Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her mother, Doris Morefield and husband Charles "Ronnie" of Glade Spring, VA ; father, James "Bud" Blevins and wife Helen of Akron, OH; son, Billy Jack Thomas, II and wife Beverly of Bristol, VA; two daughters, Anastasia "Stacie" Hand and fiance Jerry McDaniel of Glade Spring, VA and Terri Snead of the home; two brothers, Bobby Blevins and wife Robin of Glade Spring, VA and Nathaniel "Nate" Ervin of Glade Spring, VA; two sisters, Janet Dean and husband Kevin of Wilmore, KY and Penny Scholl and companion Chris Hanna of Akron, OH; five grandchildren, Bobby Hand, II age 10, Selena Hand age 7, Shannon Thomas age 7, Alexis Hand age 6, Blaze Snead age 3, and a grandchild due in July; special aunt, Melva "Sue" Blevins of Glade Spring, VA; special uncle, Roger Dale Blevins, Sr. of Glade Spring, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home before 1:30 p.m., Monday to travel in procession to the cemetery. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at Baptist Cemetery in Glade Spring, VA where Preacher Mike Riley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jeff Blevins, Roger Dale Blevins, Sr., Curtis Nipper, Sr., Curtis Nipper, Jr., Joe Robinson, and Michael Warren. Jerry McDaniel, James "Jimmy" Poe, Nathaniel "Nate" Ervin, and step-son Robert Lee Blevins will serve as honorary pallbearers.
