Patrick James Mannix

d. December 31, 2014

Bristol, VA Patrick J. Mannix was called home by Our Loving Father on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He is deeply, deeply mourned by adored wife Catherine (Hughes); son Patrick and son Timothy and wife Alex; the blessed gift who is grandson, Michael James; brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends here and in Ireland. As Catherine held Pat’s hand here, beloved parents Mary R. and James P. Mannix and sister Mary E. Ragazzo took the other, hearts and souls one as he journeyed to renewed life. Born and raised in New York, Pat met the love of his life when he and Catherine served in the United States Air Force. Following the birth of their sons in California, and upon discharge from the Service, they settled in Bristol, Va., part of the beautiful region where Catherine was raised. A good life was made better by her close and caring family and by the Northerners who never let a long distance keep them from their dearly loved, admired and respected Pat, Catherine, Patrick and Tim. It is at such a sad and difficult time that God’s compassion is most evident in the people He places around us. The love, prayers, kindness and support of family, friends, the staff at the Johnson City VA Hospital and Wellmont Hospice, and Father Kevin has been a blessing. May God bless you all. We offer special, heartfelt gratitude to Ronald and Margie Hughes, Randall and Angie Eads, and Randy and Miranda Eads. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, 350 Euclid Avenue, Bristol, VA 24201, with Father Anthony Senyah officiating. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, 53 Memorial Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37604.
