Paul Edward Fleenor, Sr., 76, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 in Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN.

He was born in Washington County, Virginia and was a son of the late John R. and Virgie Clifton Fleenor. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve and had been employed at Clark Oil Company before opening Gateway Service Stations in Bristol. He was one of the founding members of the Washington County Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Washington County Lion's Club. He was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josie Ethelyn Fleenor and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors are his son, Paul Fleenor, Jr. and wife, Vicki of Bristol, VA; his daughter, Dottie Nash and husband, Garland of Bristol, VA; a step son, Bruce Martin and wife, Vicki of Blountville, TN; brother, Bruce Fleenor and wife, Evelyn of Charlotte, NC; sister, Hazel Fleenor of Bristol, VA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services for Paul Fleenor, Sr. will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Farris Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Kidd and Rev. Barbara Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon. Pallbearers will be Men of Pleasant View United Methodist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will Ernie McCracken, Dan Edwards, Charles Robinson, and Members of Washington County Volunteer Fire Department.

The family will receive friends at Farris Funeral Service from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
