Phyllis Jean Walker passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Phyllis was born in Smyth County, VA to the late James and Stella Moore. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Moore and her step-son Rick Walker.
Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Walker (Kelly) of Abingdon, Sampson Walker and Chris Walker both of Damascus; six daughters, Sandy Hand (Terry) of Damascus, Ginger Walker of Damascus, Cricket Walker of Parksburg, PA, Ashley Walker of Troy, VA, Deborah Kern of Reading, PA, and Jaqueline Moore of Lansdale, PA; one step-son, Mike Walker of Jonesboro, TN; one step-daughter, Donna Walker of Jonesboro, TN; two brothers, Robert Moore and J.R. Moore of Damascus; three sisters, Lois Winters of Bristol, VA, Glenna Moore, Coatesville, PA, Anita Moore, East Fallowfield, PA; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 12:30 PM at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. John E. Massey, Jr. officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12 until the time of the service at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon.
