Raleigh "Cliff" Rasnake

Bristol, Va. Raleigh Clifford “Cliff” Rasnake, age 77, of Bristol, Va. and formerly of Oakland County, Mi., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at the Wellmont Hospice House. He was born October 31, 1937, to the late Tandy Rasnake, Sr. and Mabel Rasnake in Buchanan County, Va. His smile and tenderness made everyone around him at ease. Cliff was a faithful servant of God. He attended the First Assembly of God in Abingdon, led by Pastor Roger Williams and his wife Wanda. He also maintained and kept close to his heart his membership at Hazel Park Church of the Nazarene in Mi., led by Pastor Mike Kempton and his wife Sandy. Cliff leaves behind many loving friends, family, neighbors, and church family. In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Rasnake Tautz Thursam; brother, Douglas McArthur "Mack" Rasnake; and sister, Tiny Lanie Rasnake Sutherland. Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Louisana Barton “Louise” Rasnake. His love for her was seen by all. He is also survived by two daughters, Susan (Chuck) Brockett and Sandra Judd; four brothers: Ira Gene (Katherine) Rasnake; Kemp (Linda) Rasnake; Bence Rasnake; and Tandy (Lee) Rasnake; two sisters, Janie (Danny) Gilbert and Patricia (George) Gobble; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca, Ben, Anna, Robby, Kristina, Vanessa, Jacob, Raeanne, Dezerae, Blake, and Mikyia; nine great- grandchildren, Alec, Spencer, Emily, Grace, Courtney, Colin, Lily, Lia, and Allison; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2015, at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m. Sunday at the Forest Hills Chapel with Pastor Bence Rasnake officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
