Reba Faye Coomer Anderson

Reba Faye Coomer Anderson, age 80, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at English Meadows Senior Living Community. She was born July 12, 1935, to the late Marshall John Coomer and Laura Mae Fannon Coomer in Lee County, Va. She retired after 30 years of nursing with the State of Virginia. Her love for nursing also included private duty, E.R., pediatrics, child evaluation, psychiatrics, and geriatrics. She also retired from a 30-year part time career as a Mary Kay Cosmetics Director. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed hosting family and friends in her home. Reba will always be remembered as an elegant, stylish, and caring woman of faith. She was a long-time member of the Abingdon Church of Christ.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert David R.D. Anderson, who was the love of her life; brother, Clarence Coomer and wife Lilly; and brother-in-law, Norris Anderson and wife Judy.
Reba is survived by her son, John David Anderson of Abingdon, Va.; brother, Jack Coomer; three sister-in-laws, Imogene A. McCray and husband Warren, Mildred A. Lee, and Katherine A. Godsey and husband Jimmy; brother-in-law, W.V. Anderson and wife Betty; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Additionally, she is survived by a host of Coomer and Fannon cousins.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 26th at the funeral home with Minister Bill Haywood officiating. A graveside service and committal will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Coomer Family Cemetery in Dryden, Lee County, Va. with Phil Blevins officiating.
In addition to flowers, funeral contributions may be made to Farris Funeral Service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of English Meadows and Caris Hospice, as well as, Dr. David Hale and Dr. Mark Simcox.
