Rebecca Ann Widener

Rebecca Ann Widener, age 47, passed away on Monday March 16, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center; Charlotte, NC. Becky was a native of Washington County VA, but had lived in Stanley for the past 3 years. She was of the Baptist faith and was a graduate of Temple Baptist Christian School in Abingdon. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; constantly filling the home with gospel music and good cooking. Becky was predeceased by her mother Carolyn Barrett Davis. She is survived by her husband Steven John Widener of Stanley; son Johnathon Charles Widener and wife Jennifer of Washington County VA; daughters Shana Karol LaRue and husband Bryce and Haili Brooke Miller and husband Bobby both of Stanley; father Robert Davis of Abingdon; brothers Robert Mathew Davis of Glade Spring, VA and William Shane Davis of Washington County VA; and grandchildren Mason, Alizabeth, Gaberial, Bellah, Briley, Steven and Brody; and special friends Basil and Sharon Tenney of Abingdon. A graveside service for Rebecca Ann Widener will be held at 2:00 pm Friday March 20, 2015 at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens; Abingdon, VA with Rev. John Price officiating. Pall bearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at the Farris Chapel in Forest Hills Memory Gardens before the service.
