Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" Nunley, 54, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Becky was born in Russell County, VA, the daughter of the late Anderson "Sam" Tignor and Hazel Monk Tignor. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nelson and Shirley Nunley.
She was previously employed by Lebanon Apparel Corporation and attended the Revival Center Independent Baptist Church, Bristol, VA.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Nunley, daughters, Stephanie Barton and husband, Donald, Abingdon VA, Traci Warner and Husband, Steve, Bristol, VA, grandchildren, Brooke Warner,Peyton Warner and Connor Barton, sisters, Jo Ann Tignor, Lebanon, VA, Lakie Dean and husband Dale, Lynchburg, VA, Louise Alderson and husband Harry, Cleveland, VA, Charlene Easterly and husband Curtis, Lebanon, VA, Darlene Nunley and husband , Ronnie, Abingdon, VA, many special friends and family including her lifelong friend, Kathy Nunley, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Lyons Smith, Rev. Jason Nunley and Rev. Paul Price officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Leo Rhymer, Ronnie Nunley, Junior Tweed, Buddy Widener, Michael Mitchell and Curtis Easterly. Honorary pallbearers will be Nat Baker, Dr. Forrest Swan, Dr. Matthew Cobb, L. C. Hobbs, Sheridan Pope, Junior Wise, Ben Harlow and Dave Lewis.
A very special thanks to Dr. Swan and Dr. Cobb and all their staff for their caring service to Becky.
