Rick Singleton

Richard Thomas Singleton, age 67, of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Bristol Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Rick was born to the late Robert C. Singleton Sr. and Vergie E. Singleton.
Rick “Ricky Tom” farmed all his life and worked at Singleton’s Stores, Inc. He was Co-Owner of Advertising Unlimited, Inc. for several years. Then he opened Southern Pools & Spas until the present.
Rick graduated from Abingdon High School in 1972 and was an entrepreneur.
Rick is survived by his wife, Stacy Lynn Singleton; four children: Travis (Carolyn) Singleton, Jessica (Michael) Barr, Robert Cory (Betty) Singleton, and Alexis Singleton; 10 grandchildren, Bailey, Kamrin, Marlee, Kara, Luke, Owen, Nolan, Charlee, Wyatt, and Sam; great grandson, Grayson; four siblings, Bobby Gerald Singleton, RC (Lynn) Singleton, Rita (Billy) Mink, and Becky (Tim) Arnold; several nieces and nephews, who Rick cherished; special nephew, Robbie Singleton, who was like a brother; and a special niece, Debbie Singleton.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Trey McCall officiating. A private committal service will be held at Mt. Rose Cemetery where Robbie Singleton, Josh Arnold, Douglas Meade, Ralph Lester, Michael Barr, Kyle Tignor, Rick Holder, Roy Thompson, Barry Burchette, and Ron Mink will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Pippin, Tab Williams, Campbell Singleton, Steve Pope, Tim Webb, Owen Barr, Nolan Singleton, Luke Barr, Brennon Kimbler, and Tyler Ford. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff of Bristol Regional ICU2 for their compassionate care.
