Robert Cecil Yarber, Jr., age 59, of Bristol, Va., passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 6, 2019, at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville. He was born October 16, 1959, to Robert Cecil Yarber, Sr. and Garnetta Hurt Yarber in Smyth County, Va. Bobby was a career trucker and loved spending time fishing and following NASCAR.
In addition to his parents, Bobby is also survived by his wife, Susan Kay Ritsema Yarber; son, Robert Cecil Yarber, III of the home; step-children Caroline Leigh Fortner of Bristol, Va., John Charles Fortner of Petersburg, Va., and Adam Phillip Stanley of Florida; two brothers, Tommy Yarber and wife, Brenda, of Lynchburg, Va. and Kenneth Yarber and wife, Temple, of Glade Spring, Va.; sister, Kathy Berry and husband, Tom, of Luttrell, Tenn.; grandchildren Brianna Kidwell and husband Matt, and Maura Skye Fortner; and great-grandson Alec Kidwell.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019, at 7:00 PM in Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Tom Berry officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM prior to the service.
