Robert Edward "R.E." Miller, 91, formerly of Abingdon, VA passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in Marion, NC.
He was born April 22, 1918 and was a son of the late Ed and Martha Frances Gobble Miller. He was a lifelong resident of Washington Co. and was a farmer and a nursing home attendant. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Mae Helton; two sisters, Beatrice Clark and Elizabeth Fields; half brothers, Roy and Junior Gobble and half sister, Helen Helton.
Several nieces and nephews are his surviving family.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Paul Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Helton, David Clark, Mark Webb, Anthony Webb, Carlos "Trigg" Clark and Dale Clark.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Farris Funeral Service.
