Robert James McMullin

Meadowview, VA- Robert James “Bob” McMullin, age 71, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015, at his home. He was born to the late James Henry McMullin and Mable Hamilton McMullin on March 28, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. Bob loved people and never met a stranger. He was loved by everyone who knew him. Bob was employed by Sterling Casket Company for 14 years and worked 11 years at Cracker Barrel in Abingdon. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Lisa McMullin; son, Allen McMullin of the home; daughter, Cassandra Tibbs and fiancé Scott Rowe of Glade Spring; four nieces, Linda Trush, Trish Smyth, Ruth Conway, and Susan Grimes; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as three four-legged children, Lucy, Candi, and Avon. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Tommy Wilson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Dischinger, Allen McCarthy, Chrissy Smith, and Patrick Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
