Mr. Roby Daniel Billings, 77 passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN after a short illness.
He is survived by his precious wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Haynes Billings, Bristol, VA, two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Suzette Billings and Mark S. and Patty L. Billings all of Bristol, VA, one grandson, Roby's pride and joy, Marcus Daniel Billings, one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Sylvia Haynes and their three children, Sharon, Stephanie and Steven Haynes, three step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
Roby had many beloved nieces and nephews, also many close friends including Juanita George and Nancy Doss.
He retired from Olin Matheson Chemical Corp. and Bristol Virginia Utilities.
Roby and Mary were members of the Abingdon First Church of God and also worshiped their God at the New Grace Baptist Church in Bristol.
The service will be conducted Thursday, August, 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor Bob Neace and Brother Sam Haynes officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Abingdon First Church of God or to the New Grace Baptist Church, Bristol.
