Roger Allen Kennedy, Sr, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sandoe and Maxie Mitchell Kennedy, two sisters Frances Wise and Peggy Thomas, and one brother Walter Kennedy.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years and the mother of his children, Jo Ann Kennedy, two sons Roger Allen Kennedy, Jr. and Adam Wayne Kennedy (Kasey) both of Bristol; one daughter Jennifer Leigh Kennedy Salyers (Brad) of Bristol; grandchildren, Chandler Gorley, Derrick Kennedy, Belle Kennedy, Malachi Kennedy and Aidan Salyers; two brothers, Sandoe Kennedy, Jr., and Joe Kennedy; three sisters Lucille Duncan, Edna Hobbs and Leona Lebo; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 4 PM at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Art Lebo officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Highlands Veterans Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Brad Salyers, Jody Moore, Nathaniel Kennedy, David Gorley, Russell Trent and Andy Trent.
The family will receive friends from 3-3:45 PM at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 418 N. State of Franklin Rd., Johnson City, TN 37604.
