Roger Dale Neal, 67, respected Abingdon physician for over thirty-five years, passed away at his home in Abingdon on February 6, 2011.
Dr. Neal was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Neal, and by his brother, Pat Neal. He is survived by his mother, Etta Spriggs Neal of Abingdon.
Additional survivors include his wife, Linda G. Neal of Abingdon; daughter Cynthia Ann Neal of Durham, NC; sons, Michael Christopher Neal of Washington, DC and Jeffrey Gardner Neal of Abingdon, VA; two sisters, Sandra Walters of Abingdon, and Debra Cox of Dublin, VA; and one brother, Jack Neal of Abingdon. He was the proud grandfather of Sophia Neal Noukhaly and Iris Stacie Avani Neal. He is also survived by a special friend, Jenny Saul.
A private service will be held to celebrate the life of Roger Neal.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emory & Henry College, PO Box 950, Emory, VA 24327, or to the Boy Scouts of America, Sequoyah Council, PO Box 3010, Johnson City, TN 37602.
Dr. Neal and his family are under the care of Farris Cremation and Funeral Center, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210 (276-623-2727).
