Rosa Lee Hagy Grubb

Abingdon, VA –Rosa Lee Hagy Grubb, age 89, passed on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. Rosa Lee lived her entire life in Washington County, VA and was a graduate of Bethel High School. She was a member of Washington Chapel Church and was a switchboard operator at Johnston Memorial Hospital during the 1960’s. Mrs. Grubb will be remembered for being a wonderful wife, mother, and sister. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Hagy and Bertha Dye Hagy; husband of 45 years, Roy C. Grubb; and four brothers, Charles Hagy, Fred Hagy, W.F. Hagy, and Joe Hagy. Rosa Lee is survived by her son, David Grubb and wife Barbara of Abingdon, VA; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hagy and Janie Hagy; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2015, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Lusk and Pastor Mark McFadden officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Billy Hagy, Tommy Hagy, Jeff Hagy, Johnny Remine, Jeremy Remine, and Ken Minnick serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Martin and members of Washington Chapel Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to Washington Chapel Church in Mrs. Grubb’s name.
