Rosemary C. Snader passed away on January 6, 2011 in Abingdon, Virginia.
She was born Rosemary Coleman in Lewistown, Montana. She received her B.A. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where she majored in economics. She had a successful modeling career in New York, becoming one of the original John Robert Powers models. She then moved back to California after signing a contract with RKO studios. In Washington she met her first husband, William Denton, Jr., then attending the United States Naval Academy. The two wed in 1942 at Fort Benning, GA where the groom's father was stationed. They had four children; Michael Ann, Sharon, Margaret and William III. The Dentons moved to Arlington, VA in 1959 where Rosemary became a successful real estate agent. She and William divorced and she subsequently married Lyle O. Snader. She divided her time between Miami, FL and Pinehurst, NC.
Mrs. Snader is survived by three of her children: Sherry Johnson of Emory, VA; Margaret Denton of Richmond, VA; and William Denton III of Arlington, VA; and five grandchildren: Casey Johnson, Leigh Eckert, William Denton IV, John Denton, and Meredith Denton.
The funeral mass will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Abingdon, Virginia, with the Rev. Paul Maier officiating. Burial will follow at Holston Conference Cemetery in Emory, VA.
