Ruby Hearl Kestner, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was of the Protestant faith and attended various military chapels during her husband's military career.
She was born to the late George W. Hearl and Trula Minnick Hearl. She is also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, James N. Kestner; five children: Diana Rasnake and husband Curtis of Abingdon, VA; James L. Kestner of Bristol, VA; Teresa Branson of Bristol, VA; Kathy Kestner of Bristol, TN; and Roger Kestner and wife Sharon of Bristol, TN; three brothers: Eugene Hearl of Richlands, VA; Harry Hearl and wife Peggy of Bristol, VA; and George Hearl and wife Doris of Abingdon, VA. She has also been blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA 24210, with Rev. Leonard Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Friday at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
