Sarah E. McFadden Pippin Warren

Abingdon, Va.

Sarah E. McFadden Pippin Warren, 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Russell County Va., but had lived in the Abingdon area for most of her life. Sarah attended Flat Rock Community Church. During her working years, she worked as an aid at Johnston Memorial Hospital and she retired from Harwood Corporation. Sarah loved to garden, cook, and especially enjoyed making her house a home. She had a devoted love for her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed.

Sarah was predeceased by her husbands Charlie Pippin and Harry Warren; her parents Luther F. and Lilly Mae Gobble McFadden; brothers and sisters Ballard McFadden, Claire Gilmer, Charlie McFadden, Luther McFadden, Jr., Nana Clark, Beulah Brooks, Robert McFadden, Myrtle Reynolds, Henry McFadden, Audrey McReynolds, Betsy McFadden, and William McFadden. Sarah is survived by her brother Thomas F. “Tom” McFadden of Meadowview, VA and special friend Evalene Arnold.

A funeral service for Sarah E. McFadden Pippin Warren will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Bill Breeding, Brother Roger Hearl and Rev. Mark McFadden officiating. The committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Knollkreg Memorial Park where Dave Hale, Lee Brannon, Richard Duncan, Farley Thomas, Alfredo Lopez and Raymond Woodward will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jackie Thomas, Scotty Thomas, Michael Clark, Michael Gilmer, and Chris Hale. Friends attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45 p.m. on Saturday.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Flat Rock Community Church, 1210 U.S. Highway 19, Lebanon, Va. 24266.

The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to Cynthia Harvey, Sue Spurgeon, and Roberta Vannoy for the love and care shown to Sarah during her time of sickness.
