Shelva Jean Wood

Bristol, VA Shelva Jean Wood, age 77, formerly of Abingdon and Bristol, VA passed on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in Hampton, VA. Mrs. Wood was a member of the Singingwood Baptist Church prior to moving to Hampton. She was dedicated to her family, and they will miss her dearly. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Wood, in 1998 and her youngest son, Charles A. Wood, in 2010. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl A. Moran and Cynthia D. Moran, both of Hampton, VA; two sons, Bobby L. and Robert E. Moran, Jr., both of Florida; three grandchildren who grew up with her, Kenneth Ian (Amanda) Moran and their seven children; Boyce Lee Carpenter (Sherri Johnson) and their five children; and Cecil Charles (Christina) Carpenter and their two children; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A graveside service for Mrs. Wood will be held on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Pastor John Beeler officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery ten minutes prior to the service.
