Sherry Campbell Raines

Sherry Campbell Raines, 70, of Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Oakmont Assisted Living in Bristol, Va. She was the youngest of six daughters born to Lewis Garland and Wyomia Campbell in Russell County, Va. She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1965. She worked for Dr. Roger Glover and Dr. James Moore in Abingdon, Va. for over twenty years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Lee Campbell; and Billie Morris; and one niece, Kelly Nuckels.

Ms. Raines is survived by three sisters, Jane Johnson, of Bristol, Va.; Nina Jessee, of Abingdon; and Carol Nuckels and husband, Jim of Birmingham, Ala.; four nephews, Richard Morris, of Bristol, Tenn., Ronnie Morris and wife, Wanda of Bristol, Va., Michael Wright, of Bristol, Va., and William Christopher Jessee, of Abingdon; one great-nephew, Blakley Morris, of Bristol, Va.; and special friends, Jeannie Kiger, Teresa Jewel, and Jonathan Shupe.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Caris Healthcare, and especially Mercedes, Kimberly, Tomie Jo, and Jennifer for their exemplary care and comfort of Ms. Raines and her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Caris Healthcare, 1701 Euclid Avenue, Suite H, Bristol, Va., 24201.

The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service where a memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. with Chaplin Mark Morgan and Pastor Herb Peak officiating.
