Shirley Jean Sandefur

Shirley Jean Sandefur, age 81, passed away, Friday, March 22, 2019 in Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Shirley was born July 19, 1937 in Washington County, Virginia to the late Tom Seymore and the late Audrey McVey Seymore. She was a member of Pilgram Baptist Church and had worked at the Abingdon Parks Belk. She loved to quilt and crochet.
Besides her parents Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Sandefur; grandson, Brian A. Leonard; brother, Bobby Seymore.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Brenda Weatherly and husband, Craig of Bristol and DeeDee Galliher of Bristol; son, David Sandefur and wife, Tracey of Grayson County, Virginia; sister, Joann Cornett of Abingdon; brothers, Vernie Seymore and wife, Kay of Abingdon and Tommy Seymore of Abingdon. Seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm untill 1:50 pm Monday, March 25, 2019 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Bro.Travis Bresette officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
