Stella DeBusk Stephon, 94, of Abingdon passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
She was the daughter of the late Reverend and Mrs. Berton DeBusk, Sr.. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Stephon, III.; and three siblings, Louise Taylor, B.F. DeBusk, Jr., and Dewey DeBusk. She was a charter member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church of Abingdon, and a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher of Washington County Public Schools.
She is survived by her siblings, Margaret Jackson, Charlotte and Joe Yarbrough, Don and Barbara DeBusk all of Bristol, and Freeda DeBusk of Abingdon. Also surviving her are her two children, Frank Stephon, IV., and Donna Kuczko and her husband John she had three grandchildren, Kelly Good, Shea Kuczko-Tritt, and Joe Stephon, V.; four great-granddaughters, and two great-grandsons on the way. Staff and residents at Westhaven Retirement Living, where she resided, were also considered family.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Knollkreg Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, in Abingdon with Rev. Don Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA 24210
