Stewart Coleman Nelson, 59, of Abingdon, Virginia died at his home on Monday, February 21, 2011.
Stewart was a 1970 graduate of Abingdon High School and a 1972 graduate of Hiwassee College, Madisonville, TN.
Stewart was preceded in death by his parents Rachel Dye Nelson and Palmer Howard Nelson, his maternal Grandparents Doshia Thomas and Corbett Dye, Abingdon and paternal Grandparents Nancy Collins and Charlie Nelson, Wise County, VA.
He is survived by his sister and brother in law, Sue and James Lessenberry, Littleton, CO, two Aunts Betty Dye of Abingdon, VA and Bonnie Nelson, Charleston, SC. Stewart is also survived by his 13 cousins and his best friend Ronnie Wolfe of Abingdon, VA.
A memorial service will be held at the graveside in Knollkreg Memorial Park at 11 a.m. March 19, 2011 with Rev Don Smith officiating. There will be no visitation and those attending the service will meet at Knollkreg Memorial Park.
