Sujette Peacock Hudgins

Sujette Peacock Hudgins, age 87, of Meadowview, Va., went to be with her husband on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Sujette was a longtime resident of Tifton, Ga. Sujette was a firecracker who would talk the ears off of anyone who would sit still long enough. She was a natural hostess with an uncanny love for others. Sujette was very organized and creative, with the ability to make things out of nothing. She was her daughter Jo's constant companion in her later years, and she was grateful for the company and adventures they shared.  She was a devoute Christian and was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  She leaned on her faith in the Lord throughout her life.  

Sujette was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Dalvin Hudgins; her parents, Thomas Raiford Peacock, Sr. and Marceline Edwards Peacock; her son, Alton Hudgins; and her granddaughter, Brandi Young.  

She is survived by her two daughters, Joann Davis and husband, Van L. Davis, Jr. and Kathy H. Moody and husband, James Moody; one sister, Maryann Peacock Rainey; one brother, Thomas Raiford Peacock, Jr.; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.  

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at Mountain View Baptist Church with Pastor Sherrell Dunn officiating. Interment will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Tift Memorial Gardens in Tifton, Ga. with Pastor Jim Sumner officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
