Timothy Leonard Grant, age 59, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
He was born to the late Lacy Marshall Grant and Eleanor Leonard Grant on July 24, 1953. He is also preceded in death by his son, Marshall Edward Grant; two brothers, John Grant and Bill Grant; sister, Louise Dye; grandchild, Corey Andrew Ashley; great grandchild, Marcie Gail Grant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, B. Gail Grant; son, Junior Lee Grant and wife Terrilyn of Meadowview, VA; two daughters, Melissa Gail Ashley and husband Daniel of Damascus, VA and Angel Joy McVey and husband Charles of Damascus, VA; two brothers, Jim Grant of CA and Bob Grant and wife Melinda of OH; three sisters, Eula Grant of Abingdon, VA, Shirley Rhoten and special friend Jeff Hensley of Abingdon, VA, and Mary Gay Schunke and husband Neil of NC; brother-in-law, Homer Dye of Abingdon, VA; four grandchildren, Frances Grant, Trace Ashley, Justin Porter, and Nicholas McVey; granddaughter-in-law, Haley Ashley; and loyal companion, Jake.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Eisenhower, Reverend Jerry Eggers, and Pastor David Matlock officiating. Family and friends will travel in procession to Bethel Cemetery where Billy Anderson, Bobby Arnold, Bob Mitchell, Michael Rhoten, Jamie Schunke, Zack Schunke, and Gary Thomas will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Waugh and Tommy Waugh.
The family would like extend a special thanks to the staff BRMC ICU 3 and to Wellmont Hospice.
Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defer the cost of final expenses.
